Queens College has been awarded a congressional appropriation of over $1 million with support from Congresswoman Meng and Senator Gillibrand. The funds are to be used for the development of a new state-of-the-art cleanroom facility, which will serve as a central hub for nanofabrication research. The facility will serve the entire College research community and will be operated by the Department of Physics. It will enable faculty and students to pursue research in areas including semiconductor device design, materials science, and quantum technologies. The proposal was developed with significant contributions from Profs. Benseman and Almeida, who led the preparation and submission of the project, coordination by Prof. Kuskovsky, and guidance from Dean Weinstein.
